“We are all beads strung on the same thread. Each one is different yet all are the same.” –Amma
These exclusive Varanasi Batik Wall Hanging Art pieces are hand-painted by a four-generation family of artisans in Varanasi, India. Each Batik is entirely handcrafted through a process of waxing the intricate design, dyeing the fabric, and removing the wax to reveal the final creation. The result is an amazing work of art that adds a sacred element to any home or work space, and can act as a wonderful instrument for meditation and prayer.
Our Unity in Diversity collection celebrates the richness of our world’s diverse beliefs, as well as the unity of all religions and their worship of the one Sacred Truth of God. Each Batik wall hanging features a beautifully hand-painted Sri Yantra-inspired design in the center, surrounded by symbols from some of our world’s many different faiths, including Hinduism’s Letter Aum (Om), Judaism’s Star of David, Shinto’s Torii Gate, Buddhism’s Wheel of Dharma, Christianity’s Latin Cross, Taoism’s Yin and Yang, and Islam’s Crescent and Star. All of the artistic designs of the religious symbols shown in the Batik are intended to represent unity in our richly diverse world.
Available in a wide variety of beautiful color combinations. Hanging materials not included; display ideas listed at bottom. Since each Varanasi Batik Wall Hanging Art is individually handcrafted, patterns and colors may vary slightly.
