THE STORY OF AMMA’S BLISS CHOCOLATE

Amma loves chocolate. Over the years, after a hug, Amma has given away millions of pieces of chocolate (mostly Hershey’s kisses). Uniquely, chocolate has a natural chemical compound called the “bliss” molecule (anandamide) that our brains produce when we feel love. No wonder Amma shares chocolate with us, accompanying her blissful blessing.

A few years ago, Amma devotees at Amma’s home ashram, Amritapuri, began making chocolates that were sold locally. In 2023, Amma supported the development of a line of truly exquisite chocolates to be sold principally through her North American online store and selected Ashram bookstores. These chocolates are intended to bring extraordinary chocolate to devotees and chocolate lovers, with all profits supporting Amma’s global charities.

We are now pleased to offer 6 bars, including three of the finest raw (roasted at lower temperatures) chocolate bars available anywhere and three traditionally roasted bars.  The beans were grown in the mountains of Kerala, India, a region newly recognized by fine chocolate makers. Organic and fair-trade beans from the Idukki region are shipped to California and processed in small batches. All bars are 60 gm (2.1 oz).

Gogi Berries with Mesquite – 61% cacao

Ingredients: Cacao beans, Coconut sugar, Cacao butter, Cacao powder, Mesquite powder, Goji berries, Vanilla extract, Sea salt

Raw chocolate lovers have commented that this is the finest “raw” bar they have ever experienced.

Turmeric - 75% cacao

Ingredients: Cacao beans, Coconut sugar, Cacao butter, Turmeric powder, Vanilla extract, Sea salt

If you love turmeric and dark chocolate, this bar is intriguingly intense, alluring and vitalizing.

Genmaicha - 61% cacao

Ingredients: Cacao beans, Coconut sugar, Cacao butter, Genmaicha powder (matcha & toasted brown rice), Sesame seeds, Puffed rice, Vanilla extract, Sea salt

For those who love green tea and toasted sesame flavors, this bar is both uplifting and calming.

TRADITIONALLY ROASTED CHOCOLATE OFFERINGS (all non-dairy):  One Milk chocolate and two Dark bars, all sweetened with cane sugar, will satisfy the most discriminating lover of traditional chocolate:

Coconut Milk (Non-Dairy) - 50% Cacao: 

Ingredients: Cacao beans, coconut, cocoa butter, cane sugar.  (Note—all ingredients are organic; the package mistakenly states that the coconut is not organic…it is!)

By popular request, an exquisite milk chocolate bar that’s also dairy-free.

Plain Dark - 70% Cacao
