“Meditation is the technique that allows you to shut the doors and windows of the senses, so that you can look within and see your True Self.”
–Amma
Sankara (pronounced “SHAANG-kaa-ruh”) in Sanskrit means ‘bestower of happiness’ and is another name for Shiva who, in addition to being revered as the destroyer of ego, is known as the giver of liberation and bliss.
Chanting one’s spiritual mantra with the assistance of a mala bracelet is known to help one in attaining this liberation and bliss. Nurtured with love, the large, sacred Rudraksha bead in our Shankara mala bracelet is imbued with the powerful vibrations of Amritapuri Ashram-grown Rudraksha trees and surrounded by a string of smaller Rudraksha beads. Also known as the “Tears of Shiva”, Rudraksha beads are known to benefit those who wear them and/or use them for mantra japa practices.
